Alpha Point - Alive CDM: Synthpop / Futurepop

Rating: 7 / 10

Alpha Point is a new band from Moldavia and consists of Alexander Gladky aka Rush. The band is still unsigned but Alexander releases his music through the netlabel Synthematik which aiming to promote and distributing free music from talented artists around the globe. “Alive” is the first release from Alpha Point and includes the two tracks “Alive” and “Things I Do” together with six remixes of those tracks.

“Alive” is really nice track and has quite a nifty melody. I really like the atmosphere that the song has and the poppy approach that it has. The other track is “Things I Do” and here the level of the guitars are drastically reduced to instead reveal great soundscapes and a distinct beat structure. I see this track as the better of the two which leaves you humming on the track whitout knowing it. The melody is amazing and shows of fresh elements from both the Synthpop and Electronic style.

Though the production isn’t that good I really like the original tracks. Alexander has a good voice and knows how to create danceable music. The remixes are at a decent level, but not more then that. I lift my hat – though I don’t have one – for Alpha Point and welcomes him to the scene and I’m looking forward to what he will accomplish in the future. A new single is set to be released – free – on April 5, 2010. Do yourself a favour: Download the single and make an opinion yourself.
