Alpha Point - High Like The Angels CDM (2010): Synthpop / Futurepop

For a 5 track single release Alpha Point’s High Like the Angels packs a punch. The title track alone is a great mix of guitar, synth, and a driving beat. Starting out with a keyboard arpeggio and a countdown the song kick in with an almost Rammstien like guitar and synth riff. The song continues with its musical peaks and valleys and has a calm catchy chorus that that works great against its main driving riff. There are 3 remixes of the title track “High Like the Angels” each with its own feel, one even called the “Relaxed Mix.” Along with the 4 different version of one song there is also the song “God’s Anger” which is a more upbeat aggressive track that lends itself easily to the dance floor.

Alpha Point has one other official release called Alive which came out in 2010, also a single with multiple remixes. They have had other songs on compilations for their label Synthematik and gave recently won a Battle of the Bands held by magazine Sonic Seducer. They are worth the listen and like their website says “Don’t waste your time, just go and get it now!”
